After unintentionally causing the loss of his mother’s job, a young boy with autism convinces his mom to let him stay home alone, while she attends the biggest audition of her career. But when unexpected circumstances surface, he must find a unique way to cope with his meltdown alone.
In order to portray autism and sensory processing disorder, this film will focus heavily on sound. Though the visual style will be realistic, the soundscape will be our window into the mind of the little boy and the world of rhythm tap.
At its core, In A Beat is inspired by and written for the autism community. Much time has been and will continue to be taken to create an accurate representation that can inspire as much as it can promote awareness and community.
